enjoyable
Although at first I missed the whimsy of the folky Sparrow’s Meadow from 2005, this folk rock album is ultimately more enjoyable. They write intelligently melodic pop songs that remind me of The Clean.

I have to say, I don't understand why this band went so heavily alt-country over their past two records. Their unique charm lay specifically in the quirky low-fi indie folk of "Thousand Bird Ceremony", et al. Now they sound like every other alt-countrified band out there.
Beautiful CD!
