Like most of the releases on Italians Do It Better, Desire's first album builds memorable songs from a narrow set of sounds--cooing female vocals, palm-muted guitar, and decidedly retro synths. "Miroir Miroir" and "If I Can't Hold You" are my picks, but the whole thing is strong throughout and very memorable.
The best Anne Clark record since "Hopeless Cases".
Under Your Spell is an instant classic, and the rest is nearly as good.
