Another Classic!!!

You say classic?!?!? Yes I do! The title track alone is what makes "War Of The Gods" a stunning record. Think about it. Who else besides Gamble and Huff would be able to pull off a song like that. What makes it so good is, that they chose the talents of Mr. Paul to pull it off. Maybe others could have sung it, but not to his potential. Billy really captures the song in a way that makes you feel like you are almost watching a movie. There are other notiables as well, like " The Whole Town's Talking" and "I Was Married", with "Married" once again playing to his jazzy strengths. Take a download chance on this one!!!

Billy Paul got reasonably good mileage out of this album, which never had any huge hits but remained on both the pop and R&B charts for several weeks and got good album cut radio airplay. It was well sung, done in stylish and soulful fashion, and had one good message song in “Am I Black Enough For You.” It was Paul’s second R&B hit and a good followup to “Me & Mrs. Jones.” – Ron Wynn
