Subtle masterpieces
Guillaume Dufay is not known as a great innovator, but the refinement and skill that he brought to existing forms often raised them to their highest peaks - the isorhythmic motet being a case in point. This recording , and the accompanying Vol. 2 by the same group is the most satisfying recording of these pieces that I have heard. Check out track #6 Ecclesie militantis if you need convincing.
