Another focused album from Windmill ...
I downloaded this album based on the "Big Boom" (track 2) free download that eMusic put out ... then I heard the song within its context of the entire album and realized what a jewel this one is. The more I've listened, the deeper my appreciation for the mood flow throughout. The subtle, affected vocals play off the melodic piano parts perfectly, with staccato strings, synth pads, and percussion creating a large space in which everything moves around. It's moody and beautiful.
Hard to describe
It sounds like the feeling you get when you come down from an enjoyable acid trip. (Not that I'd do such a thing these days) Like great ideas that you have but leave you as you try to grasp them. Not for every day listening, but in the right mood, I would say, yeah, that's right...
