Yo Gabba Gabba: Music Is Awesome collects most of the songs associated with the creative Noggin/Nick Jr. kid show Yo Gabba Gabba. These songs are intended to evoke both ’70s bubblegum pop and modern indie rock with a bit of hip-hop and new wave thrown in. Sung by a cast of costumed creatures and their friend DJ Lance Rock, the songs are designed to get kids to dance and sing while gaining an understanding of things like their emotions (“Don’t Be Afraid”), their bodies (“Party in My Tummy”), and the world (“You Can’t Always Get What You Want”).
