As good as I'd expected

JNathan

Simply put, Bernard Sumner needs a foil. In New Order, Peter Hook played that role to a T. So, without Hook's bass playing and (one assumes) argumentative streak, Sumner and associates deliver what amounts to New Order lite. It's still better than 90% of the stuff they've influenced, though.

Good effort, but...

GiAntCaPpucCino

It is a good effort from Sumner, but it really is missing that Peter Hook, well, hook. I guess it's just difficult for me to listen to one without the other!

Toned down effort when compared to

"Waiting for the Sirens' Call", but that's not a bad thing. Don't expect four on the floor dance numbers, the tone of the album is definitely that of restraint. The lyrical content and performance are what you would expect - and want from ex-New Order - don't hesitate to give this repeated listens.

Good not Great

MMitch59

I'm big fan of New Order and a moderate fan of Electronic. This definitely fits well into that tradition. I find myself getting bored during the second half of the ablum but there's good songs throughout.

Excellent contemporary New Order pop

maisbrough

Bernard Sumner formerly of New Order, makes another great pop record, abundant with catchy hooks and uplifting summery tunes. Recommend trying Sink or Swim and Twist of Fate - if you like those you'll this. Highly recommended.
