Emotional, lamenting ablum but with hope!
I have had the good forutne to be able to listen to this ablum several times now. It runs the gamut of emotional highs & lows; everything from lamenting a loss or disconnect with those around you to total priase & joy for the life we've been given. That being said, there is always a firm knowledge of hope and redemption throughout the recording. The song Restore probably antitheses this dynamic as clearly as any song on this album. Is starts our a quiet, sorrowful questioning; converts to pained anger; but wraps up beautifully with glorious restoration by songs end. Nice. Another highlight is the song Awaken, which has an Evanescence feel to it. The first track Carry Me is a solid duet between two people who help each other through life's challenges. Lastly, the slower ballads Will You? & Claire's Song provide a jarring, emotional punch. Even as contemplative & questioning as these songs get, the overwhelming sense of hope and salvation are prevalent. Very well done!
