Subtle and beautiful
Meant to accompany a surprisingly fascinating documentary about origami and its place at the strange intersection between art and math, this work is in places simple, in places sublime, and in places unexpectedly beautiful. The album, as a whole, is repetitive; at some level it is almost entirely variations on a theme. But oh, what a beautiful theme. The music isn't obvious, and it creeps up on you, leaving impressions. It walks that fine and wonderful line between melancholy and joy. It is simple, but it is lovely.
