Skeptical at first

MonsterMagnus

When I stumbled upon the fantastic band Septic Flesh I got really interested in the, for me, unexplored Greek metal arena so without much effort I then found Rotting Christ. When I first listened to this album I was a bit skeptical, probably because I expected a Septic Flesh clone, but then I heard "...Pir Threontai" and I instantly got zapped by Zeus. And now, when I listen to the samples two month later I find myself enjoying every song on this album. Do yourself a favor and buy it!

Distinctive, Regional Black Metal

Marko_Lee

Notwithstanding their vile name, RC is a great band and this is a highly original and fresh black metal album. The regional and world music influences are apparent, but not overwhelming. AC is not the fastest, heaviest, or darkest black metal band, but they are certainly one of the most original and distinctive ones. If you like this, check out Melechesh as well.

black metal, but not as you know it

Muirster

While there is no doubting the black metal pedigree of this record, it's a long way from the orthodoxy of scandinavian BM or amelodic US metal. Melodic without selling out in as some symphonic outfits have, there is a regional influence brings a rich drone to the songs - the drums are particularly resonant. Outstanding Pagan metal, should appeal to fans of eg Primordial
