Their name may translate as "The Disappointment," but you won't be by this 2009 release if you're ready for some adventurous listening. Die Enttauschung is Axel Dörner on trumpet, Rudi Mahall on bass clarinet, Jan Roder on bass, and Uri Jennesson on drums. If you "get" Mostly Other People Do the Killing, you'll enjoy their prankster-driven sound. Die Enttauschung started out in the mid-90s as a Monk tribute band and performed his entire catalog with Alexander von Schlippenbach on his epic "Monk's Casino." Now, they're doing original pieces in a style reminiscent of early Ornette and the Eric Dolphy / Booker Little sessions.
