Great sound, bad vocals
The music is great but the vocals ruin it.

I'm not going to give a beat by beat, note by note account of this album. Just simply to say that yet again, they've produced a blinder. Lush strings, stunning rhythms, and plenty happening on the edge of hearing that always makes Hybrid a joy to listen to and explore. Lights off, a dose of whatever takes your fancy and immerse yourself. Well worth the 12 credits.
I could not care less what any other reviewer says. This is AWESOME!!!!
Try Empire and Original Sin, these two tracks rock. Epic and breakbeat
....but irritating vocals. The tracks are among the best of Hybrid's epic orchestral breaks style. Please release an instrumental version of the album!
It is not unusual that a great "Electronica Dance" producer throws in some downtempo/ambient tracks in their LP; Jam & Spoon pulled this off well on their first LP, while others like FSOL, Black Dog, & Groove Armada/Weekend Players are more like downtempo artists that also can throw down great dance-oriented tracks. "Disappear Here" sounds more like a soundtrack or a concept album than the typical "electronica" release. This is not a bad thing; one just has to be in the correct mindset when approaching it. Think of it as something that will set the mood perfectly when drinking tea early Sunday morning or having dinner guests over. Sweeping strings & looser rhythms set the chill mood well, but still stays musically interesting much chill-out songs typical of electronica artists. Strongest tracks: epic Break My Soul (which could be played on US A/C stations if rock-radio remixed properly), Salt that has a touch of Middle-eastern rhythms, & the acoustic guitar warms Every Word well.
Hybrid's Wide and Wider Angle albums, while terrific club music, were just that - club music. In the years since, they seem to have lost their need to conform to the trance or club-friendly electronica genres, and they have done it well. Every album has become even more true to their "Hybrid" name - new orchestral sounds, neo-classical and soundtrack influence, and unique lyrics, whilst still producing some club-friendly tracks and remixes. I look forward to replaying this album as many times as I have replayed Morning Sci-Fi and I Choose Noise. Well done, gents.
Hybrid are back with a stunning new album, If your a fan of their previous work then you don't need to listen to the sample just download it now.
