Fresh retro sound
I don't know much about Slow Club but have been listening to early Simon and Garfunkel recently at work. It was the music I grew up with, played by my father in a sunlit room in Southern California in the late 1960s. Seems funny to compare so long after, but the tight harmonies and all-over-the-map creativity, that fresh collegiate sound, are what I hear with this duo, too. It's the essence of urban folk, albeit with a 21st century (Yorkshire!) edge. Haven't heard it in a new group in ages. Like it very much.
