A NOTCH ABOVE THE PACK
This is not my typical listening fare. But since I remember this fellow playing Stevie Ray Vaughn covers at the Yale Hotel in Vancouver, BC at the age of 13 and barely missing a note, I had to see where that original talent and guitar styling went. It didn't go to Autin, TX, It went Southwest to LA, but that's not so bad. The songs are solid and that's what he writes, so he's made them sound as they should. He keeps tight to a mainstream rock veneer with slick production and good hooks. But it gets heavy, and more in yer face and drives the blues influence forward ( see Follow me Down, Headache, Palms to the Sky to see the breadth of sound ) I see him going beyond the reach of EMusic soon.
