Best work not available in UK

willCo

Their album "Up From Below" is too brilliant for words - full of musical and lyrical ideas. Alexander Ebert fronts this band, and his solo album "Alexander" is even better (my favourite do-it-yourself album since "McCartney"). Why are neither avaliable in the UK on emusic??

Bowie cover from a tribute album

TimmyC

This is a cover of a David Bowie song, released on the tribute album "We Were So Turned On." It is released here as a single which is a bit confusing if you don't know the song is a cover or that it originally appeared on a tribute album. I find the song itself is a bit repetitive, atmospheric and rather un-energetic, and it doesn't draw me in the way the debut album does. But that's just me. Some people will like the song. But it doesn't really sound like the band's debut album.
