Simply stunning!!

Lotusflodine

Wow, I'm blown away! "Unhand Me, You Fiend" was my emusic find of last year, so hearing this album with all solo versions of those amazing songs really gives me a whole new respect for David Cloyd as a songwriter and as a singer. The vocal performances on this album are stellar. Of course, I can't wait for Cloyd to come out with an album of brand new material, but I'm more than happy to have this album in my life in the meantime!

Beautiful songs, beautiful album

catafora

I love listening to all of the layers on Unhand Me You Fiend, but now I'm just as impressed by what he does on the "un-mixes" of those songs. His voice sounds amazing and passionate, and the guitar and piano playing are impeccable. The Wire was always one of my favorites on the previous record, but now that I've heard this heartbreaking piano version, I'm actually having a hard time choosing which I love more.

What a Disappointment

Datasmith

I have been madly in love with David Cloyd's work in "Unhand Me, You Fiend" for a year and a half. I was really looking forward to this new album. What a disappointment that it is merely an inferior re-do of the previous album. I downloaded it anyway, because I really want to support this artist. But every track is inferior to the version on the previous album. The intensity and vitality of the original has disappeared in a miasma of dull mediocrity. These are still great songs, but are much less interesting than the earlier takes. David, if you read this, please try to create some new songs and orchestrate them as imaginatively as you did those on "Unhand Me, You Fiend".

Cloyd Revisited

ElasticHeart

This is terrific and musical, and I'm so glad to get more from David Cloyd. Became a fan of his first album Unhand Me You Fiend last year, and am excited about this solo reimagining of that material. A-la Whitley's Dirt Floor or Nick Drake. Super cool.
