Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone (Remastered)
The WORST remastering job I have ever encountered. Abrupt starts and stops ruin the exquisite performance by Yo-Yo Ma.
Lovely, a suite of film music
Beautifully played music from Morricone arranged into a tantalizing suite. Excellent quality. The entire album plays as a single track - just start it off and let it accompany any sort of romantic interlude! Highly recommended!
Excellent, better than some of the originals
I've never been a big Yo-Yo Ma fan, but this one is excellent. The Morricone music is excellent, and I can't help but think that perhaps now he has the very best sort of performers to realize some of these. Not all of them are better than his originals, but some are, and all are excellent. Ma apparently likes Morricone, there is no other explanation as to how he could have interpreted these as well as he did. And when you hear a master like Ma play Morricone with the same love as he would Mozart or Brahms, then perhaps you might realize the unmistakable, even the unspeakable ... that Morricone is as gifted a composer as any of the Old World masters. Go ahead, baste me now, I don't care, that's what I think.
