good, but something's missing
This third release for the .357 String Band is very good. I really can't think of any current artist that can do this revivalist bluegrass sound any better. That being said, something is sorely missing for me at least, and that is Jayke Orvis. Billy Cook is extremely talented, and I don't mean to slight him at all, but with Jayke there was a much rawer, grittier, sound from this band that I preferred. This is a personal preference that skews my reception of this album, because it really is great. I just liked how they sounded with Jayke better. Will I listen to this album over and over? Yes. Do I recommend you get it? 100% Yes. Will I always spin "Fire & Hail" or "Ghost Town" before this? Yes.
