Chilly Gonzales — pianist, producer and tk, Feist collaborator — can now add filmmaker/soundtrack-writer to his list of accomplishments. Ivory Tower, the soundtrack to the film of the same name which he co-wrote and co-produced, is largely instrumental, but not void of Gonzales's signature quirk: the first lines, not spoken until the second track, are "I'm a dogshit ashtray/ I'm a shrugging moustache, wearing a Speedo tuxedo." The record mixes disco ("You Can Dance"), electronic programming ("Crying") and Gonzales's piano mastery.
