Absolutely Brilliant

zebo34

I loved ALL of the songs. i knew that this album would be different but WOW i was blown away because this is something that id never thought that id ever hear from these guys all my friends complained about how awful the album was, its because they think that a band should always do what the fans want, wrong, its a good thing that i listen to a wide range of music.love you guys and i hope that you will continue to do what comes natural and dont let fans do what they wnt you to do a band is a voice that no one else can change and that is what i respect about you guys.

My favotrie band evar!! Their like metal and then other stuff and i liek how he screams at me whatever song i play. OOh, and i get to by the album again but liek one song, cuz there not only are they that good, you just can't get enogh of it and I don't have too hit bakc on my ipod or else i get tendonitis. I hope the next alblum, they make covers of tales like the three little pigs, that part of "then he huffs, and he puffs, and blow THE HOUSE DOWN" will b clasick!!!1111!! Well, at least emusic has still underground music thats cheaper most of the time.

Dissappointed

craazymuzik

I've been a huge Linkin Park fan since "Hybrid Theory" and have enjoyed everything since. Now I don't hate this album but was expecting so much more. I've listened multiple times to this album trying to love it like I do all their other albums, but couldn't. Hope the next one will be much better.

eMusic Lets Long Time Customers Down

Thanks eMusic for getting mainstream music that I can easily get anywhere else. What a letdown.

An LP Purist who Likes This

Eclectic1

While I attribute it largely to producer Rick Rubin, I don't mind the different style of this album as compared to the previous. Give it a listen or two and see if you find something you like.

Catharsis of a false identity

AD-Whit

This work marks the evolution of Linkin Park (Shinoda and Bennington)as something more than screaming echoes of alternative music. This is a catharsis of youthful indiscretion yielding to adulthood. "Burning in the Skies" will well the tears as this song deals with regrets of misusing their talents, gifts that should benefit others and is not for self indulgence. “Waiting For The End” is not a death watch. The title is dark but it is, dare I say, about resurrection. “Iridescent” is the awakening; contribution far outweighs retribution. “The Catalyst” is the motivational upbeat victory defeating the evil that is allowed to dominate our world. Finally, “The Messenger” is the transformed person who is guided by a higher power now that they have broken the bonds of deceit – love is strength. With love in your heart, God saves us, everyone, angels will walk with you no matter how difficult the fight, for love dominates the universe that is made up of a thousand suns.

eMusic Yearbook: 2001

By Melissa Maerz, eMusic Contributor

Was September 11, 2001 really the day the music died? It sure seemed like it at the time. Clear Channel released a memo suggesting the removal of more than 150 songs from their 1200 radio stations, declaring such tracks as Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'," Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot," and "all songs by Rage Against the Machine" to be "lyrically questionable" in light of the terrorist attacks. Record stores yanked the latest by hip-hop anarchists… more »
