Sheer, raw talent!
These guys are amazing. I just heard them today for the first time and am I glad I did. For young guys, they clearly have been channeling the old greats and learning their stuff, yet they are also fresh and current and unique. Every tune is different. This is music I can imagine doing different things to, like cruising in the car with all the windows down (Brown Haired Daughter), or sitting on a porch in the mountains and watching the sun set (How Lovely All It Was). It's a little country, but not too much. It's just enough rock n roll, and very much themselves, Old 97's.
