fortunately, ample listens leave many layers. pleasure is correct. slow burning, mild mood inducing, smoke drifting, sunny afternoon baking tunes find me feeling fine. for fans of dirty beaches, portishead, mazzy star...et cetera...

Great tunes, but
I don't care for the "cracked speaker" distorted sound-some great tunes if it wasn't for the distortion.
held together by looseness
Pure X sounds like... * Early low-fi My Morning Jacket for vocals and understated bass and drums. * Zelienople for smothered but interesting sound. * Surf music from some volcanic beach in a mutated universe. * A low-fi mike on the guitar amp. It might sound like crap at first. But no, it is held together with its looseness. Music that rides the edge of junk for a death-defying high (on metaphorical downers). Recommended.
