Dress Rehearsal for "Dark Side"
OK, maybe not a DRESS rehearsal. This is such a low key affair compared with every other Floyd album that they certainly weren't dressed for anything, much less the monster album to follow that eventually made the others despise Roger Waters. Here the band sounds so uncharacteristically sweet together, with only \"a bottle of wine\" as opposed to what everyone usually imagines, especially on the best track, \"Stay\" (download that if nothing else). This album makes the listener realize that the incredible success of \"Dark Side of the Moon\" was due to its place in the fleeting transition between the low-key lull of this album and the strung-out superstar drama to follow, which eventually blew them apart.
