  • They Say...

A solid 24-track collection of Walton's Specialty sides. With the exception of his three issued singles, most everything on here is previously unreleased, filling in some major holes in the artist's discography. Both of his big hits, "Lonesome Cabin Blues" and the title track, are aboard, along with some interesting duets with female vocalists Lady Fox and the cryptically named Thelma. Walton was like a more countrified version of Percy Mayfield, with a strong sense of imagery to his writing and the ability to work in a number of styles. This collection of down-home piano blues showcases his legacy well.
