Here Nugent's "kill it and grill it" sonic persona is fully formed — he just hasn't yet found Derek St. Holmes to sing half the tunes and the record company with the moxie to push the shtick into the stadiums. However, the big Gibson Byrdland guitar is front and center, oozing six-string grease and howling feedback on no less than three instrumentals. And "The Great White Buffalo," a Nugent signature still performed with utmost vigor, make Tooth, Fang & Claw one for the fanatics. The only drawback of the downloaded version is that it doesn't come with the sleeve pic of the Nuge in loincloth and tights, overcome by the power of rock, in front of the amp stack that barbecued one of his ears.
