Here's one for the youngest trick-or-treaters, though if you're looking for a scare, the CD is more Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta than Boo. Clean and lean, with acoustic accompaniment, Dines’ tunes are both singable and full of physiology. She explores "Funnybones" and "Goosebumps," explaining that the latter can be caused not just by fear, but by pickle-eating. In "Blood," she discusses both Dracula's and the human body's need for the red stuff. It's the album's only spooky track, but in a way young kids will enjoy. "Soon it was time to eat dinner/The salad was covered in slime/Roast rack of rat/covered in fat/And guts of the goriest kind." She ends with "Down in Sleepytown," a sweet lullaby that will chase away nightmares left over from "Blood" and anything else you download this Halloween.
