  • They Say...

Minneapolis indie pop darlings Kloey shine on 2002's After School Special. The disc's 15 songs radiate with a positive glow. This was their second full-length release, and was full of brief, sweet pop songs. After School Special served as an impressive follow-up to their debut Hello, My Name Is Kloey. College radio in the Midwest took note of songs like "Gotta Gotta" and "Blue." Bubblegum harmonies throughout the album make it surprising that Kloey never caught on more than they did. Vocalist/guitarist Cindy Iverson and vocalist/bassist Robbie Sutter carried the songs, and drummer Reed Sutter showcased his talents as a producer. The disc was released on their own Nucleargopher Records.
