  • They Say...

On Pigeon's Throat, l Rose and the group of extremely talented musicians, the Transcendos, that aid him on his mission create some interesting pieces that are all quite unique. Some are easily linked to a particular genre, others defy one's attempt at labeling because of their originality. All are expertly crafted and equally presented. This album is musical entertainment at the highest level, easily enjoyed by all. This first track from the album, "Lincoln," has a solid rock beat that is nicely colored by some tight harmony vocals. The drummer keeps a tight beat with precise fills that accentuate key phrases. The keyboard layered into the background lends a richness to the melody. The lead guitar break was short but sharp with a creative fluent flow. The final track, "Metaphor," follows in tradition with the rest of the album, incorporating a mesmerizing melody and the elegant use of masterfully crafted lyrics. Laura Blye lends her vocal charms to elevate the melody to an even higher plateau, with her awe-enticing vocal range. Al Rose, along with the Transcendos, has an album that contains some of the finest instrumental, vocal, lyrical, and original content that well deserves international attention. An ace production that will remain timeless while being extremely difficult to pigeonhole into one particular genre best describes Pigeon's Throat.
