They Say...
Charlotte, NC, indie label Deep Elm demonstrates its commitment to post-Dischord-style emocore with this well-paced sampler, which boasts the label's impressive roster. After 19 tracks, the brokenhearted-guys-with-loud-guitars effect starts to get a bit repetitive, but that doesn't diminish highlights like Planes Mistaken for Stars' Superchunk-esque "Leaning the Room," Slowride's feral "Rockets and Jets," or David Singer's "The Cost of Living," which offers an almost loungy respite.
“ The indie iTunes — Hardcore music fans are migrating to eMusic, the iTunes Music Store's cheaper, cooler cousin.”
