Nottingham Forest’s very own football classics

  • We Say...

For a short time in the late '70s, the notoriously opinionated Brian Clough turned unfashionable Nottingham Forest into a football powerhouse and his spirit looms large on this collection. The album’s one hit, "We’ve Got the Whole World in Our Hands," reached the top 30 in March, 1978, when the Forest squad famously predicted, “We’re gonna win everything, so stand up and sing for Cloughie the king.” Win everything they did and in the next two years they were crowned double European champions, making them the only club to have won the European Cup more times than their own domestic title. A fierce opponent of players as celebrities, Clough would be the last person you would expect to hear on a football record, but he later teamed up with JJ Barrie, of Christmas novelty hit "No Charge" fame, to record a pair of jaw-droppingly jaunty anti-hooligan ditties, "It’s Only a Game" and "You Can’t Win Them All," that really have to be heard to be believed!

  • They Say...

Former Champions of Europe, Forest has had a long and storied history. Much of which is documented in song on this 20 track disc. A must have for Forest fans.
