  • They Say...

Recorded in the wake of the demise of Victor Krummenacher's touring unit A Great Laugh, Saint John's Mercy is even more reflective and deeply personal than its predecessor Out in the Heat, reflecting a wide range of stylistic influences from garage rock to psychedelia to country. The album is at times unfocused, but its best tracks -- "Tear-Stained Road," "Questa Sunset" and "Long Way Home" among them -- possess real power and beauty.
