  • They Say...

Shifting gears from the wild eclecticism which typified his previous project Hieronymus Firebrain, with his new band Jack & Jill, Jonathan Segel opts for a more stripped-down alt-rock approach. Chill and Shrill rarely deviates from a strict guitar-bass-drums formula, although Segel is simply too eccentric a performer to settle for a generic sound -- his raw guitar leads are delivered with genuine passion, and his songs are consistently heartfelt and clever.
