One of the handful of Chilean DJ-producers remaking mid-’00s minimal techno in their own fecund image, Luciano is an equally adept producer, laptop performer and DJ. The latter is showcased on this prime, frenetically squiggling set. As with any good mix, the whole equals more than the sum, but many individual moments shine: the rain-on-tin electro-snare breakdown of Tadeo’s “Bateria Lup!”; the bottomless kick drum and nagging pulse-riff of Matt John’s “The Rising Scope”; the shifting layers of dubbed-out hand percussion of Ricardo Villalobos’s “Ichso”; and most of all, the cavernous bass drops of Samin’s “PG23,” 2000 and One’s “Sunday” and “Father,” a collaboration between Luciano and Thomas Melchior.
