  • They Say...

This is a case of a fine album being stuck behind some truly awful cover art. In this case, a creepy photo of Morlix's head floating among some reeds in a pond fronts a collection of well-crafted country-blues tunes. Morlix's plaintive complaint of a singing voice is oddly winning, particularly when set to these songs of regret and cockeyed optimism. Of particular note is his excellent slide guitar playing throughout. Now if we could only do something about that cover.
