They Say...
Singer Reza Derakhshani performs trance groove music influenced strongly by his Iranian heritage. His vocals are full of yearning, most of the selections stay on one chord, and Reza's sitar is a lead voice throughout. Although his sidemen are musicians based in the Los Angeles area, they adapt themselves quite well to his haunting and strangely soothing music. Depending on one's musical tastes, either the music communicates very well or it keeps one waiting fruitlessly for something significant to happen.
