They Say...
Satyricon begins to open up its sound somewhat on the Intermezzo II EP, exploring more fully the elements of industrial metal and dark ambient hinted at on Nemesis Divina. The obvious focal points are the epic "A Moment of Clarity" and the closing suite "Blessed From Below," the EP's most experimental track; the latter is divided into three sections -- "Melancholy," "Oppression," and "Longing" -- which evoke their titular moods quite effectively, echoing Tiamat at times. Although purists may disagree, Satyr's willingness to incorporate new sounds bodes well for the band's future.
“ The indie iTunes — Hardcore music fans are migrating to eMusic, the iTunes Music Store's cheaper, cooler cousin.”
