They Say...
These radio transcriptions from 1939 & 1943 feature Krupa in big band settings. The '39 "Show Of The Week" (12 tracks) and '43 sessions w/Roy Eldridge & Charlie Ventura (12 total cuts, nine live from the Panther Room/Hotel Sherman in Chicago) display a muddy, at times scratchy sound that digital transfer did not improve. The best sound (four tracks) is from the '39 session during the "Young Man With A Band" shows. There are no duplicate selections throughout. This collection can only be recommended to completists.
