  • They Say...

Like, say, Grandmaster Flash before him, DJ Mark the 45 King is a turntable wizard whose gift for manipulating the wheels of steel have made him a bigger name than many of the rappers who work with him. On the first half of Master of the Game, he is joined by Markey Fresh and Lakim Shabazz, both of whom spend most of their energy rapping about the greatness of DJ Mark, who samples from obscure soul, disco and funk records. On the second half, the 45 King goes solo, allowing his slicing and dicing of swing, house and disco records to exist without verbal accompaniment.
