In the vein of Farish and Blue Stone.
'7and5' is the New Age alias of John Nixon, whose music has the same feel as fellow artists Blue Stone, and Ryan Farish. His approach, is not unlike John Adorney's layered compositional renderings with a peaceful, soft-backing, female vocalise. The songs are not as placid as 2002's offerings, but are geared toward quiet personal introspection. The album has enough musical changes, to make it eminently listenable, and moves it beyond a mere exercise in staid 'elevator music'. A number of cuts from this CD would fit well into a playlist populated by the likes of: Bernward Koch, Kevin Kern, Amethystium, Liquid Mind, Ann Sweeten and Enya too. As with most 'New Age' efforts it isn't "earth-shaking", but what it is, is a very polished effort, that seeks to 'uplift' the listener. A nice addition to your 'New Age' library.
