  • They Say...

Apart from improved sound, not a great deal separates Platinum & Gold Collection from the other A Flock of Seagulls anthologies. This effectively replaces the best-of released in 1987 by Jive, though one third of the track selection is different. Instead of "Transfer Affection," "Who's That Girl (She's Got It)," "(It's Not Me) Talking," and the nine-minute mix of "Space Age Love Song," this comp features "Don't Ask Me," "You Can't Run," "Heartbeat Like a Drum," and "Modern Love Is Automatic." All of the necessary singles -- "Space Age Love Song," "I Ran (So Far Away)," "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)," and "Telecommunication" -- are provided, and you don't need to go beyond that.
