  • They Say...

These six songs are bedroom electronica remixes from the American Analog Set album Know By Heart, one cover, and a re-envisioned, previously single-only track. Labelmate Her Space Holiday treats the band's quiet and deliberate songs with overly lush orchestration and beats that unfortunately adopt singer Andrew Kenny's meter on "Aaron and Maria." Her Space then experiments somewhat more successfully with the singer's voice as a percussive element on "Know By Heart." The band returns the favor, if you call it that, by covering Her Space's "These Days" with its now trademark walking speed drums, dreamy vibes, and breathy vocal delivery. Morr Music's Styrofoam adds dissonant undertones to "Postman" and musique concrète-sounding eeriness to "We're Computerizing and We Just Don't Need You Anymore." The new track, "Desert Eagle," is almost an overture to the album with its drum dropouts and ephemeral vocal parts.
