  • They Say...

After spending his years as a label head, graphic designer, DJ, and producer (Badly Drawn Boy, Death in Vegas), it shouldn't be surprising that Andy Votel's debut lives up to its name. With help from fellow Twisted Nerve cohort Alfie and girlfriend Jane Weaver (who adds sultry vocals to "Girl on a Goped"), this seven-track recording reveals the British DJ's roots in jazz, hip-hop, and rock. The mini album finds tranquility towards the end, finishing up with an ensemble of acoustic instrumentation that complements Votel's electronic experimentation.
