  • They Say...

This sampler tours the fuzzy, rough-edged land of Philadelphia indie pop and rock scene. Despite the title, this is definitely less about psychedelia than it is about indie pop, both harsh and sweet, with other surprises worked in. For a dash of the psychedelic, though, there is Asteroid #4. This group is cut from the same paisley cloth as Brian Jonestown Massacre. As for surprises, check out the weird sounds of Azusa Plane. They offer creepy and sparse music ideal to back up a Brothers Quay short. Sounds From Psychedelphia also works as a Lounge Records label sampler, as each act is on their roster.
