They Say...
Kisses necessitates yet another alias for Matthew Dear. For any set of ears that has heard his stylistically distinct tracks -- if not wildly disparate tracks, since they're all in the realm of very physical dance music -- released as False, Jabberjaw, and Matthew Dear, the need is apparent roughly one minute into the A-side. On both "Kisses" and "Titty Fuck," Dear throws his sound into overdrive without antagonizing the listener (or dancer), finding a happy medium between his streamlined material and the tough-sledding corrosive tracks released by Auftrieb. Third track "The Great Compromise" is not so easy on the dancer, a shuffle track with a weary, unpredictable gait.
