  • We Say...

Keep it simple, stupid. That's exactly what Ben Weasel does on his first solo album since 2002's Fidatevi. Much like that album, These Ones Are Bitter ignores the march of time and focuses on smart, solid pop-punk songwriting. The results are equally as fantastic. The tunes are catchy as hell, All-American Rejects' Mike Kennerty production work is clean and the lyrics are Weasel's typical combination of wit and bite. Sure, you have to be ready to hear the same song played at (subtly) varied tempos fourteen times in a row, but when it's as good as this, why bother complaining?
