We Say...
"All you freaky residents, meet your first black president," the original dirty rapper chanted on this characteristically eccentric release, which gave new meaning to the terms political junkie and democratic par-tay. After promising "chitlin's in every pot...hamhocks on every table...birth control pills in every purse," for his first act in office, President Blowfly snorts an enormous line. "We won," he says in amazement, then corrects himself: "I won! All you motherf-----s did was vote." Which, in its own goofy way, is about as astute an observation about the current state of our electoral politics as any. Decades after scoring legitimate hits under his given name (Clarence Reid) and writing songs for artists including Sam & Dave and KC and the Sunshine Band, the X-rated crusader is now recording for Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label. We can only imagine what the debates sound like when those two lock horns.
