  • They Say...

Bo Ramsey's debut is informed by the reverb-heavy sound made famous by Fifties-era Chess label icons including Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson; "Sidetrack Lounge" conjures the spirit of John Lee Hooker, while "Big Bill" honors Big Bill Broonzy. More contemporary figures are celebrated on In the Weeds as well -- the wistful "Desert Flower" is a tribute to Lucinda Williams, who also contributes harmony vocals.
