  • They Say...

Camera Obscura's "Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken" is indie pop at its very best. A soaring melody, a huge hook, lilting strings, and Tracyanne Campbell's drop-deadpan vocals add up to make it pure genius that will spin your brain into a big wad of cotton candy. That's a good thing, and so is the three-song EP the song headlines. (It can also be found on the brilliant Let's Get Out of This Country LP.) The other two songs are fine examples of the same qualities that make "Lloyd" so good, and either would have fit right in on the album -- "Roman Holiday" especially. The EP also includes the video for "I Love My Jean."
