  • They Say...

The bombing of Baghdad, suicide, IRA member Thomas McElwee, police violence and more are subjects on this album. Some material sounds like Alice Donut with a Chumbawamba worldview, but it is all a lyrical and fresh approach to social criticism. This lineup (now disbanded) is much more musically advanced than the original Michigan lineup that made Crucifucks and Wisconsin. The Crucifucks don't tell me to be an activist, but they make it very easy to understand why they feel as they do. The Crucifucks have been talked about much since 1992. In that year, Alternative Tentacles reissued their first two albums under the title Our Will Be Done. The cover photograph was from a Philadelphia police recruitment poster and included a gunned down officer. Alternative Tentacles and Borders Books were sued and the lawsuit went for some time before a resolution positive to the defendants was reached. Big hugs to Border Books who stood by the label and shared legal costs.
