  • We Say...

DDMMYYYY trade in a jittery alt-punk with irregular-heartbeat drumming and vocals that recall a frantic At The Drive-In fronted by a more adenoidal Perry Farrell — these busy, kaleidoscopic songs buzz through more sections, ideas, and time-compressed hooks than most bands find the space for on an entire album. The glass-shard guitar lines, descending vocal lines, shouted chants, and multiple time changes of "Bronzage" blow your hair back and then are gone just as soon as the shock has registered — which is a pretty fair description of these guys' M.O. All the knotty power and texture of math-rock minus the math.
